A Welcome Back to School!
Dear Parents
It was absolutely wonderful to have the students back in the classroom on Thursday this week. They had started a number of tasks in Off Campus mode and had an opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with their partners. We also did a practical maths activity where students made a square metre out of paper. They used both their measuring tapes and their square metre sheets to measure the Perimeter and Area of different spaces in and around the Year 6 classrooms. This was an enjoyable visual and kineasthetic learning experience which allowed students to see and feel the concepts of Perimeter and Area in a real-world context.
Below are some photos of that activity.
I wish you a wonderful weekend and we are looking forward to seeing the students next week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Kind regards
Wendy
