Happy Week 6!

Last week the students collaborated in pairs to create a Maths video tutorial to explain the difference between prime and composite numbers. They were very engaged in the task and enjoyed showing off not only their knowledge but also their video recording and editing skills. This week we are learning about Integers - the set of all positive and negative whole numbers, comparing and solving problems that relate to the real world.

In Science, we have started to design an experiment to test the effect of different salt solutions on a plant. On Monday, students revised the steps in the Scientific Inquiry Process. In particular, we jointly constructed a testable question and an hypothesis that we could prove or disprove using a Fair Test experiment. We will also look further into the rising salt levels in Australia and how this impacts sustainable farming.

Our first fundraiser of the year kicks off next week on Thursday 12 March. Ice Cream Day will be a welcoming cool treat at recess. The students are commended for their passionate presentations on a range of different charities. Happy Days is the charity we will support with our fundraising efforts this year.

We've also been focusing on developing our skills in creating expanded noun groups to help us become more descriptive writers! A work in progress...
